Bruce,

Technical articles appear with good frequency in PI but not as they once
did as separate and removable pages. I think it may have been with a
change of PI ownership or perhaps to keep printing costs in check. I
enjoyed the removable tech articles too.

The issue of the headlight modification is not unique to this list. If
you look in your Fall '96 issue of Pantera International you'll find an
article I wrote that first identified the problem with the headlight
switch and included a wiring diagram for fixing the problem. My article
was then followed a few issues later by Dennis Quella offering an
alternate diagram.

All the current for all the lights passes through the headlight switch
which is unable to handle the required amperage. This heats up the
switch and a plastic piece inside the switch melts causing the switch
contacts to separate with an instant loss of all lights.

This headlight malady has since become the Mike Drew fix but I believe I
first identified the problem with my article and a check of the list
archives will show I also brought it to the attention of this list some
years ago.
