As I was driving down Roswell Road (in Atlanta) Friday I spotted a 1971
Black Pantera parked up on a platform in front of a specialty car dealer.
We were having one of our famous Georgia thunderstorms and it was raining
like mad. I was amazed that someone would leave a Pantera out in the rain
like that. I went back today to check it out and found it to be in tough
shape. It is number 1444. It has the chrome trim around the side windows
but is not a push button car? The car has nice looking 8" and 10" Campys,
an aluminum lay down radiator, big tail pipes, Hall like pipes but with
slash cut chrome tips. The front valance and cross member is badly rotted
away, no back bumpers, a lot of oil on the underside of the car, paint is
very tough, dent in the driver rocker, front hood doesn't fit, needs tires,
at least one of the back suspension tubes has rust (the very back tube) and
the interior was not clean and someone had cut the ash tray opening at an
odd angle on one side. The asking price is $29,900. I have pictures if
anyone is looking for a project car. It makes me feel bad when I see a
Pantera left outside in the rain with its fur all scruffy. Someone with a
lot of money needs to save that poor cat!
