All:
Received some major packages in the mail to-day: front spoiler from Kirk
Evans came in midday in all of it's grey primered fiberglass glory.
Thati WILL grace the front snout of #2428 (in order to keep the car's
nose from going airborne). Also, a package from Marino Perna came in. I
set IMMEDIATELY to work on that one. A set of repro Ghia emblems (thank
you, they look nice and crisp), the barrel nuts for the Power By Ford
and the detomaso pantera scripts, and other assorted gaskets and
gidgets.
So the first order of business was to put the rear emblems back on my
car. I basically tossed out the chrome look on my car and instead
powdercoated the scripts in gloss black. Mmmm...did they look fine. I
had some trouble trying to locate the holes (as the painters skim coated
over these important areas) so I had to do some creative searching to
uncover (ne: drill) the holes out again. Once this was done, I inserted
the barrel nuts into the holes and used light taps of a mallet to fit
the units back in. Ditto with the Power By Ford emblem. From the tail
end, she's beginning to look more like a Pantera. I'm really glad about
that. Next phase is the continued wiring of the car. I have about two
more empty weekends after that before I go toss 120mm training rounds
down range from an M1A1 Abrams tank I'm "t-cing " (or tank commanding
for). Other than that, that's about it. It is still a long row to haul
but I will make it!
