Asa,
I agree with you and again post my findings to this list. A few years
ago when I machined a new lower pulley to mount a crank trigger wheel,
the owner of the car requested that I make it oversize from the
original. He was having cooling problems at idle and low engine speeds.
After trying an assortment of ineffective "remedies" he found that
speeding up the pump cured his heating problems. I now have no
recollection of the finished pulley diameter but seem to think it was
about 1/2" larger. It certainly cured his overheating problems.
