| Subject: | Welly Die Cast Pantera Model |

I dunno if this die cast model is known to those of you that collect such
things, but I thought I'd share the info in case it isn't.
Denise shocked me by sending me a die cast Pantera model that she spotted in
(of all places) the grocery store! She can't explain what made her notice it
- she certainly wasn't looking for it (and, truth be told, has no great love
for my Pantera). I'm sure I wouldn't have noticed it if it were me.
It's made by Welly, is model 8360B (apparently of a series of 28 models - go
figure), is yellow (a generic yellow), and appears to be an early pushbutton
(there are depressions behind the doors instead of handles) with Group 4
flares (they're scalloped as though they were riveted) and a front air dam of
some sort.
The details are impressive in some areas (like the front and rear side running
lights - thought they look like those on a pre-L, front turn signals hanging
from the bumper, front fender contours, etc) and poor in some areas (interior
is bogus, decklid is flat with metal instead of a rear window, and with a
character crease running parallel to the front and side edges, the rear bumper
and lights are black plastic and pretty bad). Oh, and the underside has an
exhaust system going from the front trunk toward the rear. :-)
The model is distributed by (according to the UPC sticker):
Vertical Merchandising Systems, a BMK Company
Cleveland, OH 44131
In case anyone's interested...
