Hello Charlie, it's 4am here in CA, just plowing through a week's worth of
mail. Looking at the extremely handy laminated wiring diagram I picked up
in LV, it appears to me that a green wire from the "#8" fuse supplies
voltage to the wiper motor under all circumstance, while an orange wire
supplies 12V from the switch. Inside the wiper motor, I'd expect, and the
diagram seems to confirm, there is a set of breaker points which closes
whenever the wiper blades are out of the "park" position, these are
connected to that "always on" wire.
So, if you can get to the wiper motor, and find the green wire, and it has
12V, the problem I'd expect to find inside the motor. If you don't find 12V
at the green wire, I'd try jumpering 12v to it and see if the wipers
suddenly park.
What is puzzling is that on most cars I've owned, the park feature only
works with the key on. The wiring diagram seems to indicate the wipers will
park with the key off. Can other readers confirm this? Run the wipers,
turn the key off, do they still park on their own?
I enjoy your slogan......but you might ease up on the valve lift......is
there really any performance gain after .450 or even .400?
Guy D.
