Anyone out there have their door panels off?

My speakers are already mounted in the door panel just barely in front of 
the armrest.  This means they are located at the rear of the forward opening 
in the door itself.  I hope to remount them as forward as possible within 
the same door opening and need to know if the window mechanism allows equal 
depth access in this propossed area.
