Subject: Front Tire Sizes: What will fit??

I just checked the TireRack, and the 245/40-17 Michelin Pilot SX MXX3s
that I need (recommended size) to match the rears I already have are not
available. Looking at some back issues of Profiles and PI I noticed
mention of using 255/40-17s and I've also seen 245/45s mentioned. The
255s are only .3 in taller so that doesn't seem like too big of a
problem, but they would stick out (and in) 5mm (~1/5") more which may be
a problem. The 245/45s are an inch taller. Does anyone have either of
these sizes?
