I just heard something baffling: during a monologue about handling problems, Pat Goss, the "automotive consultant" for Maryland Public Television's weekly car show Motorweek93, said that the proper rotation scheme for non-uni-directional tires is an X-pattern, as opposed to the old front-to-back. Is this guy whacked or what? The only time I tried a diagonal rotation was on a now long-gone (thank God) 85 Camaro; the rear end immediately displayed a shimmy during light deceleration and a general sense of driver unrest. -- Jim (moore@email.ncsc.navy.mil) Arthur shrugs his shoulders and, with a mighty swing, removes the Black Knight's last appendage. The Knight falls to the ground. He looks about, realizing he can't move.
