I just had my radio replaced under warrenty (this was on a brand new 92,
tape deck started to not rewind a couple weeks after I got the car). 

The dealer never asked me for the security code I had set. I strongly
suspect the dealer has a master code they can use or have a way to override
the code. They probably just don't like to advertise that they can do this.
