I just got my MCA product guide/newsletter yesterday. An article in the newsletter mentions that the Miata design engineers are devising an aftermarket supercharger. Apparently the original intent was to offer a GTU Miata with a supercharger bolted in place of the existing power steering pump, but the idea never made it off of the design floor. They said that they'd be doing an eval of the three available superchargers soon (one company is already selling them I believe). Prices are expected to be in the $2-3K range. Also noticed that one aftermarket parts company has devised a module that sits in-line with the driver's side map light. It's supposed to turn the map light on when the door opens (no surprise here) and leave it on until the ignition is turned on, providing light for getting the key in the ignition. Not a bad idea. On the other hand it _is_ a minimalist car and maybe it detracts from the whole concept to hang gewgaws and gimcracks off of every last wire and bolt in the car...
