Subject: caring for soft tops/making a shift knob

Hi All...

	My Miata (or Mimi) is just 2 years old, and sits in the garage through the  
winter, (and too much of the summber  :-(  )

	What is the best way to care for the soft top?  I can see some drying spots on  
the inside of it (like water stains sort of).

	Has anyone out there turned their own shifter knob on a lathe?  I have a small  
scrap of Ebony that I would love to turn to a shift knob...  What threads are going to  
be required?
