Well, I new that reading this list would get me in trouble :}. If you people hadn't complained about the Mazda symbol on the front of the '93 Miata I would have never noticed it - but you all did and I did too. Last night I took it off - and - took off the emblems on the back too! I thought you folks would like to know what I did and how it looks. Front Mazda emblem: It is plastic and has two posts sticking through the plastic bumper that are fastened with those gripping thingies. I was able to pry them off the post from the inside with a paring knife and a mirror. Its also stuck on with some sticky foam stuff that separated from the emblem. It took about 30 minutes to carefully pick off with my finger nail or rub off. Now there are two 2mm holes in the front the rest of the finish is fine. I'm thinking of closing the holes with some black silicone caulk by taping over the holes on the outside and pushing some caulk in from the back. We'll see. Back Miata emblem: I like clean lines - that's why I bought a Miata. So, when I found that I could remove the front emblem I went to the back. I've never liked all the stuff back there. The Miata emblem is just stuck on with that sticky foam and was easy to get off. Most of the foam went with the emblem. I just pulled very slowly and "helped" the foam separate with a screw driver. Back Mazda emblem: The back Miata emblem went so well that I decided to take the Mazda emblem off too. I wasn't attached with sticky foam but was attached by two posts that I broke off. Now there are two holes in the metal showing. One is about 1.5mm in diameter and the other is larger. Knowing what I do now I wouldn't have removed this one. How does it look? I think okay. In fact, I think the car looks a lot better (If only I could get rid of the license plates). In retrospect it was a stupid thing to do - but I got away with it. Should you do it? Probably not. There's a real good chance that a slip could mess up the finish. My car is new (<2K miles) so every thing is soft and there is no fading. Also, its black which might be a more forgiving color. Just wanted ya'll to know that it can be done and how. Also, wanted you folks to know that your comments may have consequences. Later, I'm going to peel some beer bottle labels now. David Shine
