Here's a little more food for thought on hood or other emblems: I am a current Porsche and future Miata owner. Emblems on the 914 have always been an issue, as some argue that it is not a "true" Porsche (my arguement is that it's a lot truer than a 944, 928, etc.) I too do not like the hood ornament on the 93 Miata. I like simplicity and lack of ornamentation. Let the shape of the car speak for itself. Think about this, though: The Porsche crest is packed with tradition and status, and thus is generally liked. The Mazda crest is new and people don't connect it with images as they do with the Porsche. Twenty years from now (when I still have my as yet unpurchased Miata) that crest may be a lot more meaningful, and may be a desirable image. As I say, just some food for thought. PS - Anyone want to buy a great 914??? Jeff Cerier jcerier@world.std.com
