But how many Miata owners of '90 or > '91 cars actually paid sticker? $1000 OVER, $2000 OVER, $3000 OVER or > more? You have to consider this also in the resale.... well, no, as a buyer, you don't... what the original owner paid is only of interest to the original owner. the potential buyer doesn't care what you paid. granted, it may make the *asking price* higher, but in the long run, i don't think it has had much effect on the actual selling price, especially given the fact that after the first year or so, price premiums were no longer common and the supply of "post-premium" used cars is gradually increasing. i think the main reasons "old" Miatas are holding their value are: - Miatas are good cars - used Miatas are in relatively short supply - those that are available tend to have low mileage and be in good condition personally, i paid sticker when i got my '90 (ordered in '89) due to the demand and waiting lists in effect at the time. but i also felt it was a fair deal, given the circumstances. it's all paid for now (yay) and frankly, i feel i've already gotten more value out of it than what i originally put into it. if i ever decide to sell it, whatever money i get from the sale is purely a bonus. -- Ken Buck /| Internet: k.buck@ma30.bull.com \'o.O' ACK!
