I need to vent, and this bunch will probably understand my frustration the best, so.... I needed to head back into work tonight to finish printing a presentation. 2 blocks from my house I noticed a fresh '94' in the street and swerved to try and avoid it. Stopping 20' further on and taking of quick survey of the car revealed white paint all over the lower half of my two month old Black Friend. There was even paint on the front of both side mirrors. They had just poured out paint from a can to create the letters, rather than brushing, spraying or rolling. I probably only woke up the imediate block around with various uprintable words. Luckily I was only 2 blocks from my house, so a quick run home at 3 MPH to avoid more damage was in order. I started with Meguire's Final Inspection, but had to resort to some old Bug and Tar spray that I haven't ever used on a car I really cared about. All the paint came clean, but the wheel well plastic bits and pieces and suspension are still speckled. The front tires are almost exactly half white, the rears about 1/4. I'm leaving for Montreal on 4 hours, so I'll have to wait for the weekend to see what more can be done. I know it isn't something like my baby getting hit, but it is still frustrating. I'll let you know how the serious cleaning goes, and if the Redmond High class of '94 has a vandalism fund.... (one can only hope!) Mud guards are now high on the wish list. On a lighter note, the subject of windows up/down when the top is down gets my vote for DOWN. The only exception is when it rains (yes, I live in the Northwest), and it is necessary to use the wipers. They push all the water up to the top left edge, which then flows over the header and onto your left arm. Windows up and about 60 MPH results in a nice dry ride.... -Kurt Kokko
