I have noticed that when the car is cold it doesn't shift into 2nd gear really well at all. It almost refuses to go in. It will go into third though. Once it's warm, it shifts great. -------- This behavior seems to be relatively characteristic of the car (maybe that's why some people have referred to it as "character" ). In any event, a number of people have used synthetic transmission oil, and found considerable improvement, while others have found minimal improvement. I replaced the tranny oil with Redline MTL and found that the 1-2 shift was much better as well; other netters have used other products. Good luck, Bob
