It's probably about time for me to replace my shocks (60,000 miles). Should I just go with another set of the stock units, or should I upgrade? My Miata is a 1990, and so far has no suspension or performance modifications, but i've been thinking of adding a technosport track bar and a front shock tower brace. I'm also considering adding an aftermarket exhaust and Jackson Racing cold air induction system. Since I use my car as a daily driver, I don't really want the ride to suffer. A set of adjustable shocks sound good, because I can tune them softer for normal driving and stiffer for autocross (which I haven't done yet, but am hoping to try). Would adjustable shocks put me into modified class? I know that the braces and the induction system would put me there already, but the shocks are going to be the first item I replace, so would they alone push me over the line? If the stock shocks can handle the power increase (under 150 hp), I'd be willing to stay with them. I'm sure they'd be a lot cheaper than some of the adjustables out there. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
