Sure they ask.  Some can't help it.  What do you say to them?  Well, you
thank them sincerely for the time they took out of their day to let you test
drive the BMW, extoll whatever virtues you believe the car to have, and
finish up with, "It's a very nice car and quite a compliment to Mazda
(imitation is the sincerest form of flattery), but I just don't think I'll be
trading in my Miata any time soon." :)
