OK, guys, I'll throw in my two pfennigs on the subject of exhaust wrap. Caveats: This is based on my personal experience with the Thermo-Tec wrap and a set of headers from Ron Millen(?). Yes, the wrap cooled off the engine compartment; I could even touch the wrapped header tubes without discomfort. Unfortunately, after about 8 months, one of the Y-sections where two of the header tubes join rusted out. It appeared the wrap over the Y created a sealed pocket and condensation developed the pocket, allowing corrosion to destroy the metal. Millen sent me a new Y-section which I had welded into place. I removed the wrap and continued to use the headers. The headers are now on a friend's car and, after an additional 3 1/2 years, rust free. If I were to do it again, I would only wrap areas where the insulation can lay flat against the tubing and not allow any pockets. Would it work? Don't know. Later, The BirdMeister
