Kathy, I just sent faxes to three places listed below. They went through. William W. Gusky 3317 English Brick Trail DeLand, FL 32724 Chief Executive Officer Mazda of America Fax 714-727-6703 Dear Sir or Madam; I am a Miataphile. I love my car. My wife and I have built a good portion of our lives around Miata driving and Miata social activities. We are active members of the Miata Club of America and the Central Florida chapter of the Miata Club of America, with a typical two events per month driving in caravan on public highways. We praise the car to all who will listen. We evangelize! I know my wife and I alone have been responsible for at least one new Miata sale (a Montego M model) to one of our friends who had previously driven a Honda Civic. One of our friends with whom we speak daily, Kathy O'Connell, purchased a new Miata. She experienced difficulty at the dealership in that they told her things she knew to be untrue, and her position was confirmed by another dealer. Kathy appealed to the Mazda Rep, but she has had no response two weeks after the appeal. So she appealed to the President of the Great Lakes Region - but he hasn't even given her the courtesy of a letter or a telephone call. You can imagine our disappointment. The great corporation we held before the world as the builders of the car we love... treating a customer in so cavalier a fashion. This is something I might expect of General Motors or Chrysler... but Mazda? A Japanese car corporation? Please tell us we are wrong, and you do indeed care enough to communicate with your customers to resolve problems. It will be difficult to continue to speak so glowingly of Mazda if Kathy continues to be rebuffed in so rude a manner. Sincerely, William W. Gusky - Red '91, "MOMENTS" cc: Ron Stease, General Manager, Ganley Mazda - 216-351-4140 David Hooker, Mazda Great Lakes, 616-942-2175
