If you don't want to travel the whole distance by yourself, you might want to meet up with the Delaware Valley Miata Club. We'll be taking two days for the drive, and (probably) breaking our drive in the Raleigh-Durham NC area. You (Leigh) could probably get to that area in about 4 hours, give or take a bit. >> So a couple of questions: what is there for the co-pilot to do when I'= >m >> off doing, well, Miata stuff? > >Let's see... Suffice it to >say that there is (warning! clich=E9 alert!) something for everyone. I will mention that the last time I was in Atlanta, I found it *very* difficult to get a Coke. Go figure. :-) As for clubs, I used to know several good jazz clubs down there, courtesy of some relatives, but it's been a number of years. I don't know which of them are still in business, or which are no longer worth the cover charge (if any). >> And is it possible for both of us to >> drive in the various events, or is it a one car-one-driver policy? > >I have no idea. Atlanta will most likely be my first Miata event. Supposedly, it will be possible for more than one person to participate in most of the driving events. I've offered my car to a friend who's thinking about attending, because she wants to take the performance driving school, but doesn't have a roll bar in her Miata. >> And I would love to hear from other first-time Miata-event >> participants. >> >I'm waffling on whether or not to go. Maybe you should pancake on it instead... :-) If money is tight, go for the CAI. You'll probably buy car parts in Atlanta anyway (home of BSP, plus Dealer Alternative should be there); the only thing that kept me from buying parts in Toronto was knowing I'd have to deal with the taxes and duties.
