I think I'd prefer the Miata to remain a tad more understated.  Perhaps we
could reserve the "flames painted down the sides"-type motifs for Fords.

To each their own.  I won't deny the fact that I kinda like the boy-racer 
look.
But I think I know the difference between boy-racer and tacky.  Of course,
some might say boy-racer = tacky.  Who knows.
