What has happened today has been the most significant decrease in performance I have ever experienced in my Miata. Earlier today the car was fine, then coming home, it started to develop a mid to high range miss. At first I thought is was clutch slippage. But when I came to a stop, it started away fine, then by 3.5k the miss started again. Mostly when I tipped into the trottle I get hesitation. Then as I continued to drive home, the misses came more frequently. Occasionally, as I would get into the gas, it reminded me of an air-cooled V.W. with a hole in the muffler. At idle, it shakes, and immediately upon giving it some gas it hesitates then catches itself, and rockets off. Any ideas??? I pulled the plug wires, which are dry but have some whitish to rusty color at the ends. All instruments are within expected operating range. Any help would be appreciated, Eric Schwarzentraub '91 Silver Modesto, CA
