That "Nobody" signed my owner's manual many years ago......maybe I can cut
off the signature part and use it to make a voodoo doll...

Okay Guys.
The story goes like this. On the 22.nd of July I visited the factory to pick
up some ordered parts. On the backside of the factory I found about 60 old
rims from Deauville prototype and Magusta. Some wheels where labeled with
"for competition use only" I asked Claudia Lodi what will happen to them.
She explained, that they would be trashed. I asked if they would be for
sale. She spoke with Isabella De Tomaso and explained, that they are not
willing to sell those, because they are damaged and not for road use. I
couldn't find any viewable damage on the wheels and told her that I want to
buy those for display and so on. She talked again with Isabella and now she
was willing to sell those. I paid them and Claudia wrote a receipt where she
mentioned in, that the wheels are not for road use and De Tomaso is not
responsible for those. I accepted it and left the wheels in the factory
because I was there with my passenger car. Claudia promised me to keep my
stuff until I will arrange a transport to Germany. So I went home in a good
feeling.
On the 30.th of July in the morning Claudia called me in the office and told
me, that Isabella and Santiago are now no longer willing to sell the wheels
to me. I explained her, that I already bought those and that the wheels
belong now to me and that I'm not willing to give the back. I told here,
that if I don't get them, I would stop my working for them.
After two ours I got a call from her, that everything now is OK and that I
will get them. I called my old friend in Modena to rent a truck and to pick
up my stuff immediately. Then the sad part of the story begins: When he
arrived at the factory at noon, the workers have started on a personal order
of Santiago to put all the wheels in the workshop to put them under a press
to damage them. I called Claudia to stop that. I also send a fax personally
to Isabella where I explained the situation and that I will make De Tomaso
responsible for any damage on my parts. After two ours I received a fax
personally signed by Santiago De Tomaso with the following text:
"Dear Mr.Jäckel
We received your fax and we inform you that you received wrong information.
Nobody broke or damaged the rims you bought and paid.
You know that they are old and used parts, not for road use, and you can
pick them up whenever you want.
Best regards,
Santiago De Tomaso"
In the meantime he had let his workers totally damage all my wheels.
I the office he said that he is very angry, that I use "his Name" without
"his" authorization. He wanted to send a lawyer to stop it. I was proud to
serve a company called De Tomaso, who has build fantastic cars. I' not proud
to serve this "Nobody" called Santiago DeTomaso, who will destroy the 50
years work of his father in a very short time.
Because of this and his personally signed lie direct into my face in don't
want to serve those guys anymore.
