Scott,
I am sorry for all of this back lash. I can't imagine taking a car NOT
FOR sale into Canada being all that.....BUT I must quickly add, in light
of the heat from my initial contact that I HAVE NEVER TRIED TO DO THAT.

The other issue is just as explained....many many forms for each and
every item and for each and every nation of manufacture (tariff's vary
depending on origin). Tariff, sales tax, any tax, vat tax (if any) pre
paid in total prior to entry in the form of Canadian cash or MO or some
such......or a Canadian bondsman (added fee). And upon your return
you'll get to compare inventories (hopefully you didn't buy anything
while you were there), fill out more forms to declare what was sold,
where it was made etc and you get a voucher which says a check in the
form of Canadian currency will be forwarded to you.

That's the bottom line personal experience no bull shit answer to taking
something into Canada to vend.
The same may be true of going to Mexico, Thailand, Virgin Islands or
Oklahoma......I don't know....never done it......didn't do it in Canada
because of the pain, time and indignity....which is not to say Brazilians
don't face the same horrors trying to drive to Cleveland to vend their
boleros.....i don't know about that either.
Hope I helped with a smile to someone somewhere amidst all this
International controversy, thin skininess, and elements of truth!

Regards,
Robert Kirk
The truth is the ultimate defense......so sue me!!
Have returned with my Mangusta and Seagram's to lurk mode.
