[DeTomaso] US Guara for sale

Some time ago, the US set up a special import rule that allows some cars to
be brought into the US.
I don't know the details, but you could bring in a car, but the mileage was
limited (1-2K per year ???).
The car did not have to be 'old', but I believe it had to be a car that was
not available here otherwise.
I met a guy that brought in a car this way Anyone know the details (gov't
website section etc)  ???

Interesting car, the first I have ever seen in detail....It looks like some
trick suspension, but I have to say the exterior for me looks out of
porportion
and well, kind of just Fugly mongoloid....The wheels...ewww!  I do not
understand why you could not have a State vin assighned.  Why could'nt a
person
represent it as a homebuilt kit car.....That happens all the time in the Hot
Rod
world?   Its probably best kept as a piece of museum history though....I
think
for 70K I would vote my dollars to a better Pantera then I own right now.
The
Guara for me is not getting it on....
