[DeTomaso] Info on Pantera needed for buyer!

Larry Holt has located a Pantera he seems ready to buy.

He contacted me for some background, and I need your help.

The car VIN is ... um ... obscured.   Initially he thought it was 8464, and
appears to be a 1974 car.
874 * THPNNC 0???4

The motor number (from the block not the tags) 5339 (Hard to read)
Tranny 7979 (Both Plate and case stamp match)

IF you check the registry, there are no cars listed in the 8XXX range as
ever being produced.
Now Mike Drew knows of perhaps two cars, one being 8167.  Perhaps this was a
special order car, or
was a Italian 'thing' (grin.)

This car also sports a Calif DMV tag, perhaps a solution to the obscured
VIN.
Anyway...

This car is now on the east coast, and several owners were found listed in
various paperwork.

Does anyone know this car, or any of the previous owners?

1989 Martin J. Stark Northridge California
1995 Greg Gayhart Woodland Hills California
1999 Mike Elio Bronx New York   (Who also may currently own a GT5)
current  Henry (Morgan) Smith Radnor Penn.

Larry would like to make a deal happen FAST, if the details can be verified.
It is likely running current NY or Penn tags.

This car is probably not a stolen/missing car, but a legit car, that got
it's VIN Ca DMV sanitized back in the 1990's.

If anyone knows this car, or any of the previous owners, please contact me

ASAP.

Also, Larry is car knowledgeable (If you count Tigers etc... GRIN)
but like any serious buyer he could use a Pantera guy to fully inspect this
car,
before he buys.
