[DeTomaso] Info on Pantera needed for buyer!

This sounds like the Pantera that a Socal guy had about ten years  back.  I 
don't remember his name but he was an Amway salesman.  He  owned two Panteras 
and wanted to sell one of them.  He had it up for sale  at the Pomona Swapmeet. 
A potential buyer questioned the vin tag.  Upon  careful inspection, the 
number had bondo over it.  The owner did the "right  thing" and called the 
California Highway Patrol.  They said, "bring it on  down" and he did.  That was the 
last he saw of that car.  They  confiscated it.  Turns out, it had been stolen 
ten years earlier & vin  switched.  There were too many buyers to trace the 
criminal.  The poor  guy had canceled his comprehensive coverage as he was 
selling the car.  He  took a complete loss on it.  The only recourse was a tax 
write off.   The insurance company from ten years earlier had title.  They took 
it and  auctioned it off.  Years later it showed up at P.I. Motorsports for 
sale  with a California "blue tag" vin in the door jam.  It was  totally legal at 
that point.  If it's a maroon metallic Pantera with a  Delta wing... you are 
probably talking about the same car.
