Similar to the Mangusta, I have seen the last four digits stamped into 
various other removable parts, including the side 'gills' and the front grille, on 
very early Euro pushbutton cars, but presumably by the time production really 
ramped up, it was no longer necessary, as the majority of these parts that I've 
handled (a bunch) are lacking any kind of number.

Mangustas have their number all over the place, including written in chalk on 
the inside of the door panels, underside of the dashboard, etc. etc. etc.....
