All,

I was working on John Maffeo's Pantera radiator fan wiring yesterday and
his car's wiring is different than either his early or my late wiring
diagram shows. His car has the following connections at the relays. The
connections that match the wiring diagrams are marked 'normal' below. The
unknown connections are marked 'extra'.

Fan Relay 1
(normal) Pink 12 awg wire coming from the fuse panel to the relay.
(normal) Brown 18 awg relay control wire.
(normal) Yellow/Green 12 awg wire from relay to its fan.
(extra) Red 18 awg wire siamesed into the Yellow/Green 12 awg wire's spade
connector.

Fan Relay 2
(normal) Pink 12 awg wires coming from the fuse panel to each relay.
(normal) Gray 18 awg relay control wire.
(normal) Blue 12 awg wire from relay to its fan.
(extra) Yellow 18 awg wire siamesed into the above Blue 12 awg wire's
spade connector.

These extra 18 awg wires appear to be factory original and head off into the
wiring harness toward the fan motors but I can't easily trace where they go.
We cut each one away from the fan power wire it was connected to but
everything in the front of the car still worked (fans, high beams, parking
lights, turn signals, headlight lift mechanism & marker lights). What are
these wires there for? Has anyone seen them before?
