are their parents thinking?

I guess this is where I chime in. Now that I am known as an organ donor
maybe there should be an awareness program. Here are some links to what most
motorcycle wrecks are caused by.... #1

http://www.metacafe.com/watch/69386/moto_hunter/ Now that is just the tip
of the ice burg so to speak. As for as teenagers on sportbikes. I have been
riding since the late 80s and sportbikes since the early 90s and never have
I met a teenager on a sportbike. If I had to guess, I meet about ten new
riders every month. In a year's time, about ten of those get killed. Out of
all the guys that I have met and later died on a motorcycle only one was
acting stupid. We all cut up from time to time, but when you deal with cars
and trucks that either can't control their vehicle, or simply don't see you,
then it tends to give you the since of life on the edge and this is how we
break out. Are we crazy, you are damn right we are. Mad Dawg once told me a
very interesting point,"Most of us that live life on the edge, have a double
(Y) chromasome, the same as a serial killer." As you will see in these
links, we are in control #5

http://www.metacafe.com/watch/30788/bikers_from_hell_2/ #10
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/68386/bikes_action/ Yes we crash, but most of
the time it is at slow speeds and in parking lots. Slow wheelies are much
harder than high speed wheelies. Now as for as being a parent. The best
advice #11 http://www.metacafe.com/watch/42135/girl_falls_off_bike/ is
teach your daughters to hang on. Most of the time when you see us hawling
ass through traffic, it is to keep us from being boxed in by larger more
dangerous vehicles. Once we get ahead, as long as we don't see blue lights
behind us, we will slow down to a steady speed. If we are in front of you,
cranking wheelies and having fun, then we are going at speeds between 70mph
and 90mph, but sometimes faster. If it bothers you, then you should slow
down, you shouldn't be going that fast anyway. Don't forget about the guys
who try and mock what we do on four wheels. #12
http://www.metacafe.com/watch/71507/thrown_from_vehicle/ Now, I didn't see
where we bikers had anything to do with a stupid kid lighting his self on
fire. Even though I know you are still going to hate us, keep this in mind.
This is our way of dealing with close calls every day. If you see us, back
off. If we crash, call 911 and do not take off our helmets.....
Brian (proud to be an organ donor at 32)
