Dunno if this is pertinate, but we used to mount the big-body stockers upside-down, not because of seal-dryout, but because the body under the boots had a 1/4" high ledge that collected rainwater. It was pretty common to pull the loose-fitting booots up and see heavy rust around the top of the shock. I also remember some years could not reverse their OEM deck-shocks without some cutting, because of a mismatch on the welded brackets for one end or the other. I'd ask the vendor of whoever's deck-shocks you use, for definitive advice. Good
