Donny,
Figuring the cost of a "checkbook" tunnel port 427.... you can probably figure 25K+++ It sounds like the PO just paid for stuff......didn't wrench..... So, everytime he wrote a check......kaaaching! Do enuf of that sort of thing, and you get to 200K! ...without even touching the interior!
Carbs are generic, but the intake and heads are very special. I had a set of them, with a single 4V intake, that had some repair damage (they tended to drop the factory sodium filled valves..ouch!) and sold them for about $2000 about 10 years ago... Sold an overbored side oiler, block only, for $600 not long after.... cranks have a $ sign on them for a reason! It doesn't take long to chew up a pile of greenbacks chasing 427 parts!!!! My last FE valve job ran over $1K.....(won't do that again.... hello Edelbrock?)
I'd guess that there was a LOT of chassis work to get the engine to fit. Motor mounts are way different.... the bellhousing..... shortening the ZF input shaft..... FE engines take a short input shaft compared to small blocks.... A Goose tranny probably would have fit fine!!!!!
I'd guess some shop saw this guy coming....and worked on the car for MONTHS and MONTHS.....
Steve

I am curious of what the bellhousing is from to get the FE to bolt to the ZF.....????
Its definately an interesting car.....But appears very driver quality for 200K being spent over the years now.
