Mike,
Have you looked through some of the tire specs at
http://www.tirerack.com/index.jsp ? I use their charts for the specific
tires that I am considering because the dimensions vary from one
manufacturer to the next. Of course for any kind of comparison, you
would have to know the dimensions of the original tires.

Thanks Mike and everyone that has responded. What I'm trying to do is
select a set of tires for the standard and wide bodied cars so I can see
if my newly found tire friend can help us out. From what I've seen so
far not
everyone agrees on the sizes.
For the standard their would be two sets for the 7s&8s and 8s&10s For
the wide body there would be one set.
As and example if we went after 285/50ZR15s for the 10X15 wheels how
goofy do they look and work on the 8x15 back wheel?

185/70 (front) and 215 or 225/50 (rear)
The Goodyear Arriva was sized and shaped totally differently; it works
out to
about 205/60 front and 255/60 rear
The Euro GTS cars came with 10-inch rear wheels, and used 225/50 and
285/50.
It's important not to mix up aspect ratios; if you have 60-series tires
in
the back, they should be matched with 60-series tires up front.
The exception to this is the cars that have rear tires that are
substantially
wider, i.e. GT5 or cars fitted with 17-inch wheels....in these cases,
the
rear tires are SO much wider that if they had the same aspect ratio, the
sidewalls would be similarly taller.
