[DeTomaso] (NPC) Enough is Enough

Funny how no one remembers that the Europeans came to this country and
beat the crap out of the natives, stole their land and resources...is
this just payback? Makes ya think...

In the end we will all be speaking Chinese anyhow. Ever hear of
globalization?

All you guys that are banging the floor chanting don't let them
in..should watch the movie "A day without Mexicans." It will open your
eyes to the actual state of things.

Why this is all of a sudden a hot topic is odd as well. Maybe we are
just allowing the media and our politicians to steer our attention away
from more pressing matters?

Like war!!??

Just sitting here drinking black Russians and thinking out loud.

Fred and All:

Any effort to close our borders is a waste of money and barbed wire so
long as there are good jobs to be had on the other side. I say stick a
Geiger counter and a few drug- and explosive-sniffing dogs at the gate
and call it good. Let them in. Then make the penalty for any American
company that hires an illegal alien so stiff that no one in his right
mind would dare chance it.

Any business that relies on these workers should then be allowed to
sponsor as many immigrant employees as they need. Sponsorship would
require that the employer pay a legal minimum wage, provide special
worker's comp and health insurance, and make income tax payments on
their non-citizen employees' behalf. Catch a company not playing by the
rules? Close it down.

But wouldn't that make the cost of a head of lettuce go up 25 cents?
Another $10 a week to mow my lawn? You bet. I don't care. I'm so sick
and tired of seeing this endless stream of immigrants come to my city
and steal what those crooked Mexican politicians can't figure out how to
provide for their own citizens.

Want to live the American dream? We're glad to have you. But I'm not
interested in financing your Mexican dream. I encourage all our illegal
immigrants to go ahead and have their demonstration on Monday. I'll
look forward to it. Maybe it'll finally make enough Americans angry
enough to do something about this economic disaster we've created out of
our own greed and laziness.
