[DeTomaso] Doc Abe shatters leg on ski slopes of Austria

First it was John "JB" Bentley shattering his face as he chrashed his motorcycle, then it was Pedro Martini taking a RPG round in Afghan and then it was Frank Cirrincione who detached a retina in a work accident....now once again, its Doc Abe taking one for the team!  Come on you guys...your killing me here! ;-] 
   
  But yea, Doc shattered his lower leg in 5 places....its been reassembled with staples, nuts, bolts and chicken wire.... or for you smart guys as the doc says, its a "tibia-fibula fracture"! ;-]  
   
  It happened while Doc was literly skiing across Austria pretending he was 25 (he's mid 60's!).  He said he had snowed for 5 straight days and the skiiing was perfect and so was his fall! ;-]  BWAHAHHAHA
   
  Luckily for Doc an Austrian skier and his son stopped to check him out and he called a rescue team on his cell phone!  Joe ended up getting a ride to the hospital in a 'Akia' which is a 2 man 4-handled  toboggan to a snow mobile to a ambulance....from there he ended up in a Catholic hospital with a 85 year old Nun praying over him in German daily.  Apparently they struck up some kind of relationship because Joe says  he didn't want to leave ;-]  but he's back home now recovering.  
   
  Since Silver State is in 3 more weeks we may have to go out to his house and wrap his leg with duct tape so he can join us up in Ely. . .stories should be good.
   
  Once again, his story of survival proves  that EVERYTHING else is more dangerous then open road racing. ;-]
