Dunno why that would be. Maybe someone was trying to balance the exceptional 
intake flow of these heads with the not-as-good exhausts for a particular cam. 
But only a flowbench or a dyno run could tell for sure. Personally, I run 
1.73:1 rockers on all 16 valves with the earlier A-3 heads.  FWIW- J DeRyke.
