I use studs on my A-3s and have not had a problem accessing the nuts with a 
std socket (or pulling the heads in the car). FWIW, SVO heads are slightly 
thicker than OEM iron heads so OEM bolts are a few threads short. If your heads 
aren't thicker or you have aftermarket bolts, try machining down the socket 
diameter a bit so it barely fits. Does the socket clear the pushrod guide plates?
