Time to take out the flamethrower OUT again.

Pleeeaze....who on this List is going to go faster then 150 mph for longer then a minute or two in a Pantera unless they are at Pocono, Fontana or an ORR?
You slacker ain't so stoping asking questions ;-]>

We've already done the tests at low to high (175) speeds in real race conditions.....Unless you are running in excess of 175 MPH in a Pantera at Pocono or ORR all you need is to reduce the under hood pressure and lift off the FRONT end which is why I had Dick Drenske mod the front end with an air dam and a modified Gurney hood to vent front end air. Alot of air is pushing throught the radiator and the small BBQ grills and other hood ducts won't vent the pressure.....

I've talked to Junior Wilson. Bobby Byers, Pat Mical, Gary Hall and Brock Yates a bunch on this subject of the bad air on the back of the Pantera. Subsequently Greg Sullivan and Mike Anderson did some not so conclusive aero and tuft tests. If you looked at Junior's Pantera and a couple others who went really fast they all modified the front end of the Pantera where it started looking more like a Can Am car then a Pantera.... I think Dan Jones and Gray Gregory touched on the problem about a week ago as well that supports that the high speed aero problem is UNDER the Pantera at the back and there ain't much of a problem on top in the back....but I could be wrong...I remember being wrong once ;-]

If you want to experiment just put that very strong clear packing tape over
the opening on the engine side to block the air rerlease and see what happens.
You can put some wool tufts on various parts of the lid area about three
inches long. Run the car and have someone take pictures on both modes for analysis.
