[DeTomaso] timing chain access and such-UPDATE

I would doubt its your carb....seldom if ever do they themselves just stop
feeding fuel altogether. I would check to make sure you have adequate fuel
pressure and that the Fuel pump is working and you have good pump shot out
of the carb. Make sure any inline filter your running is not clogged. I
would also pull the valve covers look to make sure all pushrods are still
straight and valves intact. At that you may want to do a compression test
for piece of mind that you still have a healthy engine. I did not note if
your running a points distributor? (That would be the most suspect to me
based on your syptom if you are) All that it takes is a bad condensor to
have happen what you experienced that day. Or a set of points that moved.
Thats where I would start.....Not in the order I have it listed.... Do the
easy things first, and the toughest last..... The toughest things to do are
seldom the problem!
