Patrick -
Was great seeing you AND the car at Le Mans.

Mike is still running around Europe but I'm sure he'll have a complete
writeup when he gets back. He and Gray were up for something like 40 hours
straight, helping Patrick get his car back on the track.

I'll also give a more complete write-up when I get a minute - I'm trying to
catch up with the work I missed while out playing with cars. Patrick - I'll
most likely drop you an e-mail this weekend and send you a bunch of
photos... I will say that it is DARN hard to shoot decent pictures of a
Pantera flying by at those speeds, but I have a bunch that I think you'll be
happy with. (and some that you may not - when you stopped moving at the end,
it was a LOT easier to take pictures!!!!! ;-) )

Asunto: [DeTomaso] Andy at Le Mans Classic: what an experience !

I am working on a report about Andy GT4 2342 at Le Mans Classic this last
week end, and , as I still have to work from time to time...I will post this
one probably on Friday evening, European time.
In the meantime and before all, I wish to express my deepest thanks to all
of you ( family, friends, aficionados from all over the world ) who have
supported and helped me before and during the event, especially two deluxe
mechanics, beerdrinkers and cheerleaders, i.e. Mike Drew and Gray Gregory.
The most frustrating thing today is that I have very few pictures of the car
in the race, so please SEND it to me, either by mail or on CD.
If there is one thing among the so many ones I will remember about the race
itself, it is that, when the car started to work +/- properly in daytime-dry
conditions,( i.e.in the last Plateau 6 session ), it was just as fast as a
fighter jet ! Boy, it is SOOO powerful, all the others, even the protos,
were just obliterated. Also, the noise, wow... :>)) and the speed in
Hunaudières .
Do we all really have to wait two more years for the next Le Mans Classic
???
Patrick
