Zinc chromate has a distinctive light green color and is (or at least was)
widely used in the aviation industry. I seem to remember seeing/hearing that
it is no longer used due to environmental concerns??? So I would find out
what the plane guys are using now.

Zinc Chromate is no longer available. We treat aluminum parts with alodine
1200 and then a Boeing spec primer. Alodine is a protective chromate
conversion coating.
