I had similar symptoms once, turned out to be the u-joints. Just give
the half shafts a jiggle. You'll know right away if that's the problem.

Subject: [DeTomaso] High Load shake

I have a considerable shake under high acceleration. It seems to be
worse from 0 to 80 MPH but over that it smooths out. The dash and
steering wheel have a vertical vibration, no steering shimmy or force
vector change. I was thinking it is either my half shafts or the clutch
slipping. I have around 450 hp at flywheel, center force dual friction
clutch and a long throw slave. The alignment is good and I have rebuilt
the entire suspension system with the addition of kinesis wheels with
the fat tires. Any ideas??
  Thanks
