Same thing happened to me about 6 years ago and it was the pilot bearing that goes in the flywheel. The local exotic performance shop pulled the transaxle, made the diagnosis and replaced the pilot bearing for $500. They also did some custom body work by spilling clutch fluid on my roof bringing up a nice blister. Joe Bianco
