[DeTomaso] Garage Floor Coating

Dan, I had my floor done professionally about 5 yrs ago. The contractor
used a process that kept me (and all cars) out of the garage for 7 days.
This is a hardcore application of a 2 or 3 part epoxy coating. They also
embedded sand in the mixture to provide grip when wet (although they
should've used more).
I have several neighbors that have applied the home depot garage floor
product, complete with flecks for color and grip. None of these have
held up here in Denver where winter sand from the car has worn it out.
In my opinion, the product is not thick or strong enough to resist the
wear factor. Your area may not have these issues.
If I were to do it again, I would probably try a concrete floor sealer
of some kind to resist oil spills and such and then lay down one of the
many snap-together tile offerings available. I don't have experience
with the tiles but I like the look, ease of installation, and different
material options out there.
I should add that every couple months or so I'll mop down my floor and
it shines just like it was new. Very easy to keep clean.
Hope this helps.....Tom

Subject: [DeTomaso] Garage Floor Coating
I'm in the process of building a new garage. I'm considering different
floor
coatings. Anyone have any experience and comments? Thanks. Dan
