[DeTomaso] GTS vx. Mind Train

Like Mike, I like the appearance and sound of the ANSA GTS system from the 
collector back. After riding in Jim Wallace's Pantera I would highly 
recommend modifying the GTS mufflers and installing Pat Mical's headers. Jim 
maintained the look and appearance of the ANSA GTS system and the deep sound 
although it was louder than the stock muffler sound. But it was not raspy or 
tinny sounding - just that deep rumbling sound at idle and a very aggressive 
sound under throttle. What impressed me most was the difference the modified 
exhaust system meant in raw power. I drove Jim's car at the end of last 
season with the old exhaust system. It was fast and responsive then. This 
year with the new system it is explosive. I would not have thought that just 
opening up the flow on that exhaust would make that much of a difference. It 
did.

I would also follow Mike's suggestion on making the modifications to the 
muffler first then have them coated and painted black to preserve the more 
classic look of the original exhaust system.
