[DeTomaso] Stupid speedometer cable question

There were two different types of speedometer angle gear drive units -
Borletti and VDO with different threads and different cables. Both types
were also made in two different ratios and two different calibrations to the
speedometers matched them. Cars with Type DS1 ZFs had speedo calibrated for
1210 revs per mile and a drive gear with a ratio of 1.1:1 to match. Those
that came with DS2 ZF were supposed to have speedos calibrated for 1610 revs
per mile and a drive gear with a 1:1 ratio to match that calibration. This
was designed for the diameter of stock 15" wheels and tires and applies to
Ford program cars. I don't know about the later cars.

Not all the drive combinations of cable threads and ratios have always been
readily available. Some vendors may have been unable in the past to supply
the correct ratio of angle drive or have supplied this correction drive box
due to the smaller diameter 15" low profile tires that became popular.
Speedometer shops use these little correction gearboxes to correct wrong
ratio/calibration situations.

Do all cars have the gear ratio adaptor that is located about 2 feet
upstream of the ZF's elbow and cable? Is there an official name for this?
