[DeTomaso] stroker kit????

Larry.
I might confuse the discussion a little here. Especially since I dont remember 
the space available for bigger crankshaft and other engine block restrictions for
stroke.
If you are going to base your build on a 351C motor, then I should just go as large 
as possible in CUI. I think its very funny with a stock looking big incher 351C. Sort 
of a sleeper. If there is a difference using 377 or 393 or whatever, this must be 
due to  using some kit:s not using the best geometry due to cost. 
If you got the money, custom order every part to the very best specification. And if 
not the block itself is the problem, go large. 
Usually, getting long enough rods is the problem. So custom piston with high 
pin location is nessesary. A special ordered crank together with the right size 
big end rods should clear the block and cam. And, be able to take the rpm you
suggest without any kind of problems. You may start by checking how long a 
stroke the bores can handle, and find out how high  the piston pin can be located to 
establisha good piston design. The piston top design and cr-ratio dosent make
ordering more expensive then. Then you can balance stroke to rod ratio for a 
reasonable relation. Carillo and the like makes very slim rods to clear the block.
Ok, very expensive, but I like the big 351C idea.
