A few possibilities, Axel- all done on our '72-L, so other years may be 
varient. First, on top of the wiper motor/transmission ass'y, there is a small 
black plastic cover marked "Lucas". Inside this cover is a set of points & wiring 
that are used to reverse the electric motor's rotation. Mine were burned a bit 
after 20 yrs so I filed them clean. Its very easy to crack the brittle 
plastic cover during removal, so beware.
Second, the multipoint wiring connector going from the motor to the front 
wiring loom was electrically 'open'; a good shot of Radio Shack contact cleaner 
fixed that. 
Finally, if nothing else works, the whole system came from Jaguar & may still 
be available from them. By unbolting the motor/transmission and twisting 
while pulling, the assembly will slip out of your Pantera along with the drive 
cable. 
Once out, you can bench-check it with a spare battery etc. I'd re-grease the 
transmission, as it likely hasn't seen service since the car was new. When 
reassembling, its a good idea to rotate the cable in the housing exactly 180 
degrees so as to expose an unworn cable area to the wiper worm-drives. On some 
cars, the two clamps holding/guiding the cable into the wiper drives is 
over-tight and must be fiddled with to loosen. Don't disturb the wiper drives 
themselves unless the assembly cannot be removed, or you may have trouble slipping the 
cable back thru.
